Ampofo turns 20 in October and took part in his first A-team training session today. But already on Saturday he got to greet some of the boys when he watched the training match against Jerv from the stands in Tønsberg.
– He is a young boy with great potential. Has already played professional football in Greece and the U20 African Championship for his home country. We found him through our network of contacts. We have great faith in him, but we all have to give him some time, said sports manager Fredrik Greve Monsen in between the rain showers at today’s training.
James Ampofo is an offensive player who can occupy several positions.
The contract has a length of 2.5 years – i.e. until 2025.
