Eduards had his first training session with the team today after a long day on the road, and will hopefully be ready for the squad that will face Kongsvinger on Sunday. The Latvian is a central midfielder, and now comes from playing in the elite Albanian series. He played there for KF Egnatia, and became Albanian cup champion with the team as late as June 2023. He now comes to Raufoss on a so-called free transfer from the Albanian club.
Previously, he has played in Finnish Lahti, after many years in the Latvian top league team FK Metta (in Riga), as well as Jelgava.
The midfielder (b. 1996) has 26 A international matches for Latvia, and played, among other things, when Latvia held it to 0-0 against Norway at Ullevål in the World Cup qualifiers in autumn 2021. (He also played the return match in Riga where Norway won 0-2 ) Eduards also has a number of international matches for younger national teams on his CV.
This will undoubtedly be an exciting acquaintance, welcome to Raufoss!
