In the warm weather on the roof of Oslo, Kjelsås met another Oslo team in the YMCA. The warm weather and the dry artificial grass field left their mark on the match.
Both teams were incredibly tired, but in overtime, Jens Aslaksrud pulled off some magic.
On the right in the 16-metre area, he lobbed the ball beautifully into the goal.
– I saw the goalkeeper was far out and chipped it over, says the goalscorer on NRK’s cup broadcast.
Shortly afterwards, Rasmus Eggen Vinge scored 2–0, securing Kjelsås’ first ever quarter-final in the NM.
– It’s just fucking cool to get this far. It is historic for this club here. I am almost at a loss for words, says Vinge, who is leaving Stabæk and thus will not be able to play the quarter-final.
For Kjelsås, Stabæk was knocked out in the second round of the NM.
– It’s a little sad when I see the group behind me here.
This is the first time since 2019 that a second division club has played in the quarter-finals of the cup.
