Agreement until 2026
Maxwell Woledzi turned 22 earlier in July and has signed an agreement with FFK until 2026. The centre-back has spent the last year in Vitoria SC in Portugal, after being brought in from FC Nordsjælland last summer.
Now it is FFK that applies to the defender, who is looking forward to starting his time in Fredrikstad.
“I am very happy to sign for a club like Fredrikstad. A club with great ambitions and demands. I think this is the right club and the right place for me to make the next step, and I am looking forward giving my best to defend the good name of the club and achieve what we all want here in FFK.” Tells Maxwell.
Hunted for a year and a half
Maxwell Woledzi is not a new name within the walls of the Stadium. In fact, the club has been chasing the player for over a year and a half. At 18, he was taken from Right to Dream, FC Nordsjælland’s academy in Ghana, and to Denmark. In the Superliga, there were a total of 29 matches, before the journey continued to the Portuguese top team Vitoria SC. They had a good season and qualified for games in Europe next season, but for Maxwell the stay did not go as expected and now the trip is back to Scandinavia.
“We worked hard to sign Maxwell last year but were unsuccessful then. When the chance arose again now, it was an opportunity we could not pass up. In Maxwell, we get a player with an already high level and even greater potential. He has both physique, speed, dueling power and good skills on the ball. He has spent several years in Scandinavia, played on artificial grass in North Zealand and has experience from Scandinavia’s best league. In addition, he is a great person with good basic values. We are extremely pleased to get a player like Maxwell to Fredrikstad”. Joacim Heier tells.
Suit number 22
Maxwell signed on Wednesday and will be in place when the team reconvenes on July 20. He has chosen kit number 22 and can make his debut when FFK take on Moss for a training match at Fredrikstad Stadium on Saturday 29 July.
