From Norway’s best team to FFK

Sigurd Kvile is originally from Bergen and played his youth in Brann. In 2018, he was brought to Sarpsborg 08, but was back in Bergen and Åsane in the 2020 season. Here, the young centre-back made a big impression and after the season was bought by Bodø/Glimt, who had just completed the all-time season at the highest level in Norwegian football.

In the 2021 season, Kvile played relatively much for Glimt, but last year and this year the competition has been tough and in the hunt for playing time there have been two loans. First to KBK in 2022 and in this year’s spring season he was loaned to Sarpsborg 08. Unfortunately, injuries have ruined much of both of those loans. Now the Bergen player is back in training and ready for FFK.

“When FFK came on the field, this is what I really wanted. They are a team and a club in great development and is something I want to take part in. I am looking forward to getting to know the club and my new teammates”. Tells Sigurd Kvile.

Option to purchase

The centre-back’s potential has never been in doubt. With great speed, physique and good skills on the ball, many have been waiting for Kvile’s big breakthrough. That is also the goal for FFK, who in addition to the loan have secured an option to buy Kvile after the season.

“Sigurd has indisputable potential, which we hope will be redeemed with us. Even if it is initially a loan, both we and Sigurd have a long-term perspective. We are very happy to have him join us.”. Says Joacim Heier.

No more in

With that, FFK have finished signing players in 2023. The summer window has brought several new faces into the squad, which is now equipped for an exciting autumn season.

“With Sigurd in, we have double coverage at all positions in the team. We have some injury concerns in defence, this signing means that we maintain a strong competition, while at the same time we can look after the players in a good way. We have many good training weeks ahead of us and with the quality we have in the squad now, they will drive each other forward every single day. An important premise for constantly developing the players and the team.” Concludes Cheers.

Sigurd Kvile gets kit number 17 and trains his first session with FFK today.
