  • Jerv Football Club was founded on July 1, 1921, under the name Grimstad Idrætslag. Initially, the club participated in various sports, including football, athletics, and skiing.
  • In 1946, the football section of Grimstad Idrætslag became an independent club known as Grimstad Fotballklubb. However, in 1997, the club changed its name to Jerv Fotball.
  • Throughout its history, Jerv has mainly competed in the lower divisions of Norwegian football. They have had several periods in the third tier (Norwegian Second Division), and occasionally in the fourth tier (Norwegian Third Division).
  • It wasn’t until the 2014 season that Jerv achieved promotion to the Norwegian First Division (second tier). They finished as runners-up in the 2014 season and earned a place in the promotion play-offs, where they defeated Kongsvinger to secure promotion to the Norwegian Eliteserien (top tier) for the first time in their history.
  • Jerv’s stay in the Eliteserien was short-lived, as they finished in the relegation zone in the 2015 season and were relegated back to the Norwegian First Division.
  • Since then, Jerv has been competing in the Norwegian First Division, occasionally challenging for promotion. They came close to securing promotion in the 2017 season, finishing in third place, but narrowly missed out on the promotion play-offs.
  • In recent years, Jerv has been a consistent participant in the Norwegian First Division, aiming to establish themselves as a competitive club in the second tier of Norwegian football.
