The board of Kristiansund Ballklubb and head coach Christian Michelsen have agreed to start negotiations on a final agreement, to the best of both parties.

Christian has therefore been released from his duties as head coach with effect from Friday 25 August.

The player group was informed of the decision on Friday morning.

The club’s sporting management will immediately start work on finding a new coaching solution.

Christian has been involved in creating great results and moments for KBK for many years, but at the same time the time has now come to think again.

Kristiansund Ballklubb has hired Amund Skiri (45) as new head coach for the rest of the year.

Skiri was presented to the player group on Saturday morning, and is today leading his first training session. The first game will be the away game against Moss on Monday evening.

Skiri has signed an agreement that lasts until this season, giving KBK time to set a clear direction for a long-term coaching solution.

Skiri was part of the coaching team at Aalesund’s Football Club until this summer. As a player, he became league champion with Vålerenga in 2005 and won the cup with Aalesund in 2009 and 2011, before retiring in autumn 2012.
