  • Ranheim Fotball Club was founded on February 17, 1901. It is one of the oldest football clubs in Norway and has a long-standing history in the local football scene.
  • Throughout much of its history, Ranheim competed in the lower divisions of Norwegian football, mainly in the third tier (Norwegian Second Division) and occasionally in the fourth tier (Norwegian Third Division).
  • It wasn’t until the 2010s that Ranheim experienced a rise in prominence. In the 2015 season, they won the Norwegian Second Division Group 2 and earned promotion to the Norwegian First Division (second tier) for the first time in their history.
  • Ranheim’s debut season in the Norwegian First Division (2016) was a success. They finished in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a promotion play-off spot.
  • In the 2017 season, Ranheim achieved their greatest success to date. They finished as runners-up in the Norwegian First Division, earning automatic promotion to the top tier, known as the Norwegian Eliteserien.
  • Ranheim made their debut in the Norwegian Eliteserien in the 2018 season. Despite being considered underdogs, they put up a strong fight and managed to secure a respectable ninth-place finish, ensuring their survival in the top flight.
  • In the 2019 season, Ranheim faced relegation and returned to the Norwegian First Division after finishing in the relegation play-off spot.
  • Since then, Ranheim has been competing in the Norwegian First Division, aiming to secure promotion back to the Norwegian Eliteserien.
  • The club’s home matches are played at EXTRA Arena in Ranheim, which has a capacity of around 2,000 spectators.
